a fultang blade from my friend Karl-Erik, that he had made by himself.
he wanted me to test it and to build my very first fultang knife 🙂

…since I got back from Ludvika, and it hasn’t been with knifemaking 😦
During the knife week in Ludvika the Nordic championship was held, and I wasn’t sure if I should send any knife to it. But I change my mind and send the knife that I called “blue vulkan”. and I’m glad I did, becouse it come 3:th in class B “utvecklad brukskniv” 🙂
I did some fileing on the mamoth before I send it to Ludvika as the observant visitor on my blog has notised 😉
…my version of a Mora knife 🙂
the comming weekend you will have the possibility to see it in Ludvika during the
Swedish championship 😉
…is done 🙂 and I’m quite pleased how it ended up
I’ll show you the front of the dyed sheath and the knife in a few days, before I’ll go to the “knife week” in Ludvika 🙂
…that I’ll treat like all the others I’ve made, thats means that it will have a hot linseed oil bath 🙂
and after that bath I start to prepare the knife for the leather work 🙂
… to form the handle to the Mora knife, I thought 🙂 but I was wrong 😦
perhaps I should have formed the handle first and then glued the blade on to it?
well who knows, I maight make another Mora in the future and try that metod 🙂
…in the building of my Mora knife is to make holes for the tang in the bolster and the blue spacers and also the rest of the pices that’s will become the handle 🙂
as you can se, I’ve make two extra holes in the two last elk horn pices, I’ll put piano wire in those, just to make sure that the but end will stay on place.
becouse the end of the tang only get in 5mm. in the black but end.
the dying of the red pices didn’t get all the way through the horn, interesting 🙂
and here is all the pices in the handle glued together on the blade 🙂
