that’s all for this week…

…hope to get more time next week for knifebuilding when mrs. has start to work again 😉

my first fultang knife is now finished, it was a little bit tricky but I’m quet pleased with how it ended up 🙂

…there’s still a sheath to be made, but I have not made my mind up yet, if it’s going to be a sheath in     raw hide or shaft leather. what I do know is that the sheath it’s going to be a challenge for me 😉

a perfect day for knifebuilding…

…YES it’s raining outside 🙂

I glued the scales to the knife, and it went well 😉

(except for a little adjustment for the landyard tub) 😦

I will make the handle a little bit tinner at the bally

looks better, I think

but there’s still a lot of sanding left 🙂

start to…

…form the handle

today I continue…

…my work with the scales, first sanding one side flat on each scale,

then drilling holes for the pins useing a 4mm. drill so that I can adjust the hole for the 5mm. pins.

I also cut out the vulcan fiber, that will bee blue 😉

first I thought…

…that I would use this pice of wood for the scales

but on second thoughts, no…I think I’ve seen it on a simular knife 😉

so it’s going to be a pice of amboina burl for this one 🙂

so here it is, the fultang blade by Karl-Erik and two scales of amboina burl!

look what I got…

…in my letterbox last week 🙂

a fultang blade from my friend Karl-Erik, that he had made by himself.

he wanted me to test it and to build my very first fultang knife 🙂

I’ve got my hands full…

…since I got back from Ludvika, and it hasn’t been with knifemaking 😦

During the knife week in Ludvika the Nordic championship was held, and I wasn’t sure if I should send any knife to it. But I change my mind and send the knife that I called “blue vulkan”. and I’m glad I did, becouse it come 3:th in class B “utvecklad brukskniv”  🙂

I did some fileing on the mamoth before I send it to Ludvika as the observant visitor on my blog has notised 😉
