… to form the handle to the Mora knife, I thought 🙂 but I was wrong 😦
perhaps I should have formed the handle first and then glued the blade on to it?
well who knows, I maight make another Mora in the future and try that metod 🙂

…in the building of my Mora knife is to make holes for the tang in the bolster and the blue spacers and also the rest of the pices that’s will become the handle 🙂
as you can se, I’ve make two extra holes in the two last elk horn pices, I’ll put piano wire in those, just to make sure that the but end will stay on place.
becouse the end of the tang only get in 5mm. in the black but end.
the dying of the red pices didn’t get all the way through the horn, interesting 🙂
and here is all the pices in the handle glued together on the blade 🙂
…build a Mora knife 🙂
to be honest, I’ve alredy done it. but since I’m not working on any new knife project right now I thought that I would show you how I build my version of a Mora knife.
the story behind this is that a Swedish knifemaker, carl Michael , come up with this brilliant challenge that Swedish knifemakers should make their version of a Mora knife, and send it to the Swedish championship that will take part during the knifeweek in Ludvika 11-17 july.
the first pictures show a blade grinded by Maichel Eklund, some dyed elk horn, a pice of box elder and blue vulkan 🙂
…put up with this picture of the blue one
until I find some time 😉 to try to take a better picture of it 🙂
…that I’m done with the fileing on this one now 🙂
and now is just the hard thing left, to get a proper picture of it 😉
…but last night I finaly manage to dye the sheath for that blue knife 🙂
but I’m not sure if I’m finished with it, perhaps I’m going to add some other colour to on it.
…for the belt loop, that’s all I’ve done since I got home from the holiday
I have not yet make up my mind witch colour I will use for the sheath, and it’s not depending on to many pints for me during the holiday 😉
…before I go on hollyday 🙂 so I made a belt loop today 🙂
I guess that I will spend some time during my hollyday thinking of how to dye the sheath over a pint of beer 😉
